Welcome to Best Dog Joint Health Picks. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About This Site
Best Dog Joint Health Picks publishes reviews, comparisons and how-to guides on joint and mobility supplements for dogs: glucosamine and chondroitin chews, omega-3 fish oil, green-lipped mussel treats and turmeric chews. Every piece is written from reading the label closely and from daily use with one senior Labrador mix, and none of it replaces a conversation with your own veterinarian.

Supplement Safety
Nothing on this site is veterinary advice. Limping, stiffness, or reluctance to use stairs can come from arthritis, but also from injuries, ligament tears, spinal problems, Lyme disease or bone cancer, so have a veterinarian examine your dog before you start any joint supplement, and go back if things get worse instead of better.
Tell your vet about every supplement your dog takes, especially if your dog is on blood thinners, NSAID pain medication, diabetes treatment, or has kidney or liver disease. Fish oil can affect clotting, turmeric can interact with some medications and upset the stomach, and glucosamine products are often made from shellfish, which matters for dogs with shellfish allergies. Do not give two glucosamine products at the same time unless your vet says to.
Follow the label for your dog's weight, never use a supplement made for people (some contain xylitol, which is poisonous to dogs), and keep flavored chews out of reach, since a dog that gets into a whole tub can become ill. Store fish oil as the label directs and stop any supplement and call your vet if you see vomiting, diarrhea, itching or unusual bleeding.
